On Friday, August 17, 2018, the Maryland State Police in conjunction with allied law enforcement agencies in Worcester County conducted a sobriety checkpoint at W/B US Rt. 50 and Silver Point Lane, Berlin, Worcester County. The checkpoint started at 2307 hours and ended on 8/18/18 at 0018 hours for a total of 1 hour and 11 minutes. There were 455 vehicles that passed through the checkpoint with three drivers being administered field sobriety testing, and one driver being placed under arrest for DUI.
At the conclusion of the checkpoint, a countywide saturation patrol was conducted. During the saturation patrol, four DUI arrests were made.
