Cleveland man, 67, is charged with 1987 murder of 17-year-old girl who was strangled in woods after DNA advances link him to the cold case

Police in Ohio credited recent breakthroughs in DNA technology as they announced an arrest in a cold-case murder of a teenage girl whose naked body was found near an outdoor music venue in Cleveland more than three decades ago.

Cuyahoga Falls police said 67-year-old James Zastawnik, of Cleveland was taken into custody last week and charged with first-degree felony murder.

Police were called to an area near Blossom Music Center five days before Christmasin 1987 after the nude body of 17-year-old Barbara Blatnik was found.
